For me, learning of any kind is a fundamentally joyous experience. My teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in my love of English Literature, and my aim is to enable every student to gain the same sense of joy and wonder that I experience when reading.

Professional Biography
With nearly two decades experience working in prestigious UK schools – currently as Head of Faculty at a leading co-educational boarding school with both UK and international students – I am an experienced educator with a deep understanding of how to inspire and motivate students to fulfil their potential in their study of English Literature.
Having studied for my undergraduate degree at Trinity College, Cambridge, and taken my PGCE at UCL Institute of Education, I have considerable experience of both academic and pedagogical excellence, while my experience as a GCSE examiner gives me further insight into what is needed for success in public exams.

Teaching Philosophy
My approach empowers students to articulate personal responses to literature, encouraging independent thought and critical analysis.
Having taught thousands of students from Years 7 to 13, I understand the vital role motivation plays in unlocking academic ability. I also recognise the common barriers that can prevent students from reaching their full potential in traditional classroom settings and examination-based assessments. My approach addresses these challenges head-on, ensuring every student can thrive and succeed.
